Abstract Imam Sajjad (AS), in the first prayer of Sahifa Sajjadiya, praises and extols the Almighty God, expressing profound spiritual insights about Him. The knowledge and insights contained in this prayer are founded on significant rational and philosophical principles. This study, employing a descriptive-analytical method and a philosophical approach, aims to extract and analyze the philosophical principles related to theology. The findings of the research indicate that the first prayer of Sahifa Sajjadiya encompasses seven fundamental philosophical principles related to theology, which are as follows: "the absence of temporal beginning and end for the Almighty God, the impossibility of seeing God with the physical eye, the impossibility of comprehending the essence of God's attributes, the lack of prior models in God's creation, God being the ultimate purpose, the inherent dependency and connection of all beings to the Almighty God, and God's comprehensive knowledge of all beings." The conclusion drawn is that through precise analysis of authentic narrative texts and traditional prayers, many philosophical principles can be documented and validated, thereby highlighting the credibility of well-established philosophical principles. Additionally, this approach reveals the fallacy of the argument that Islamic philosophy is merely a reiteration of Greek philosophy and is incompatible with revelatory texts.
