Abstract

The main issue of the present study is “Explaining the application of perceptions in the meaning of life from Mulla Sadra’s perspective and its function in philosophical counseling.” The aim of this study is to explain the practical components of transcendental wisdom in discussing the meaning of life with a focus on perceptions (in the general sense) that can be used to provide theoretical foundations for philosophical counseling with an Islamic philosophy approach. Based on the method of philosophical analysis, this study tries to introduce perception and knowledge as the main characteristics of a meaningful life, and to explain the position of the words happiness, perfection, and pleasure, which are the most frequent words in providing the finality and meaning of life, and their connection with perceptions. However, the path of perceptions in acquiring the meaning of life in philosophical counseling is possible in two ways: 1. Regulating and correcting cognitive components, including knowledge and strengthening the emotional powers, especially the intellect, in the two dimensions of thought and action, recognizing the effects of perceptual forms and emotional import as the most important existential assets and the principle in human happiness or misery, paying attention to the perception of the Supreme in the perfection of the soul and the role of true love and affection in the meaning of life. 2. Regulating and recognizing practical components, such as the role of will and free will in liberation from emptiness, the effects of trust and self-confidence in the meaning of life.
