Abstract
Abstract
The primary concern of this article, as suggested by its title, is the issue of resurrection and eschatology. Given the diverse analyses and formulations offered by various philosophical schools on the question of resurrection, this article undertakes a detailed comparative examination of the eschatology of two schools: Transcendent Theosophy, as the principal representative of Islamic philosophy and wisdom, and the Advaita Vedanta school, as one of the most prominent Hindu darshanas. The aim of this comparison is to identify points of convergence, alignment, and possible mutual enrichment between these two philosophical schools in the realm of eschatology and resurrection. By consulting the primary texts of both schools and analyzing their key doctrines concerning being, the soul, and the ultimate course of human existence, it becomes evident that the two schools not only do not exhibit any fundamental disagreement regarding humanity’s final destiny, but they also demonstrate a precise alignment at the level of principles, aims, and conclusions. In particular, the teleological, unity-oriented, and path-centered outlook of both systems shows that their ultimate objective is the realization of human existential perfection and union with both the Supreme Source and the unity of being. Consequently, despite their apparent differences in language, culture, and history, these schools manifest a genuine and fundamental unity and identity within the deeper layers of eschatological thought.
