Philosophical Analysis of the Phenomenon of Stress and Its Treatment ways, Based on the Foundations of Sadrian Wisdom

Abstract

Stress is one of the most common phenomena in contemporary human life that has extensive effects on his physical and mental health. Despite the extensive analysis of this phenomenon in medical sciences and psychology, the philosophical explanation of stress has received less attention, while a metaphysical philosophical reading can reveal new angles of this phenomenon. The present study, using a descriptive-analytical method and relying on the foundations of transcendent theosophy, seeks to philosophically reinterpret the phenomenon of stress. The findings of the study indicate that Sadrian wisdom explains the human soul as an immaterial agent that dominates the body, and that destructive ideas of the soul lead to the emergence of stress and its effects on the body. on this perspective, stress is a state arising from the existential affection and passivity of the soul, which emerges following the soul's perception and judgment of an external threat and subsequently manifests in the material body as physiological responses. Within this framework, the external event is merely a preparatory cause, and the principal origin of stress is an internal matter dependent upon the mode of human perception. This reading elevates the human being from a passive position in the face of events to an agent responsible for his own existential health and leads to five therapeutic ways. Finally, this study emphasizes the great potential of Sadrian wisdom, which is capable of opening new horizons in the fields of medicine, psychotherapy, and healthy lifestyle by presenting a metaphysical model centered on the human rational soul.
